Exciting New Coaches Added to PlayBall Academy

The 2022 PlayBall Academy Season Has Some New (and Old) Faces. Read about our instructors who love to play ball and instruct it too!

While we have some of our favorite coaches who provide excellent programming and instruction over the years, PlayBall Academy has added a few new faces too!

Allens Jemmott – Born in Matanzas, Cuba, Coach Allens grew up playing baseball and basketball. He has played competitive basketball since the age of 8 and played for the National Cuba Basketball team, competing in 10 national championships. He has also coached the men’s and women’s Cuba National basketball team’s, with great success. His love of athletics shows in his enthusiasm while instructing our athletes, making the players work hard but enjoy every minute. Read More >

Marty Costes – From Baltimore, Maryland, Coach Marty has been providing quality instruction with PlayBall Academy for several years and he is a great asset to the program. His a member of the Houston Astros Organization Minor League Program. Read More >

James Heffley – Currently a catcher playing with the University of Maryland, Coach Heffley has been providing quality instruction and programming with PlayBall Academy for several years. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our organization. Read More >

Lorenzo Christy – A three-letter athlete from Seneca Valley High School, Coach Christy has been with PlayBall Academy since 2018. He is the Assistant Coach at Gallaudet University Men’s Baseball Teams. He is a Lead Instructor for League of Dreams, a non-profit organization that brings baseball to athletes with disabilities. Luis Martinez – A former MLB catcher who has played with numerous organizations, Luis has been coaching hitting, catching, and batting for over 3 years. He currently teaches about 60 lessons a week to all ages and abilities. Read More >
