Coach Jemmott will be leading our new and exciting Basketball Development Program. Coach Jemmott ran over 25 events this summer at various Montgomery County Rec Centers and Camps. Coach Jemmott also was the lead trainer at all of the Play Ball Academy Camps, Clinics and League of Dreams Event for Baltimore County Public Schools.

Allens Jemmott Duquesne, born in Matanzas, Cuba, Coach Allens earned a Physical Education degree with a specialization in Basketball. He has been playing basketball since the age of 8. At 12 years of age, he competed in a World Basketball for 11–12-year-olds, in Puerto Rico. At 15 years of age, he joined and led as captain of the national select team of juniors representing Cuba. At 19, he became member of the pre-select national adult team and at 20 years of age, led the national select team for Cuba, for 11 years from 1999 – 2010.

Throughout his career, he has competed and been involved in many different countries as an invited player and coach:

  • In 2001, he played in the Juegos de la Buena Voluntad in Australia
  • In 2006, he played in the Central American Games, with the Cartagena de Indios team of Colombia
  • He competed in the Caribbean Games playing against CARICOM countries
  • In 2012-13 he played in division 1 in Brasil with the team Vila Velha Cetaf
  • In 2016, he started as head coach for the city of Matanzas, taking the team to compete for the championship which had not happened in the previous 15 seasons
  • From 2016 to 2019, Coach Allens joined the Collective of Coaches for the Cuba men’s national select team
  • In 2019, Coach Allens became Assistant Coach of the Cuba National Women’s select team, competing in the pre-Olympic games in San Juan, PR and Edmonton, Canada
