🏆 Kensington Sports: Empowering Youth, Uniting Communities
Executive Summary
Kensington Sports is a dynamic new nonprofit dedicated to transforming youth sports into a powerful tool for personal growth, community connection, and equitable opportunity across Montgomery County. Founded by longtime coach and educator Doug Remer, the organization builds on over 20 years of service to deliver inclusive, high-impact athletic programs that go far beyond the game.
With a mission of “More Than Baseball: Building Character, Confidence & Life Skills,” Kensington Sports offers free and low-cost multi-sport training to underserved youth—especially those facing financial, social, or educational barriers. Programs integrate athletic development with mentorship, academic support, and emotional wellness, creating safe spaces where kids thrive both on and off the field.
Following the loss of a $30,000 DHHS grant, Kensington Sports is actively seeking local sponsors and partners to sustain its vital work. Every dollar invested directly supports youth access, equipment, transportation, and scholarships—ensuring no child is left behind due to cost.
